The Actions menu

 

When you click ‘Actions’ on the main menu, the Actions drop down menu appears.

The ‘Add ...’ submenu - lets you add information to your family tree. You can add individuals, parents, spouses, children, events, notes, pictures, sources etc.

‘Edit selected item’  - click on a name, event, note etc. in your tree to select it, then use this option to update it’s information.

The ‘Reorder ...’ submenu - lets you change the order of children, spouses and parents for the selected person.

The ‘Unlink ... ’ submenu - lets you unlink the selected person from parents or spouses.

The ‘Merge’ menu item - lets you merge the selected person with another person in your database.

The ‘Root person ...’ submenu - lets you choose a new root person for the current tree.

The ‘Home view’ menu item - returns the tree being viewed to the starting size and location.

You can use the Actions menu to perform commands on items in your tree.  First, select an item (name, event, note etc.) by clicking on it in the tree.  The item will be shown in green to indicate it has been selected.  Then choose a command from the Actions menu.  Menu items that are not valid for the selected item will be grayed out

‘Delete selected item’ - click on a name, event, note etc. in your tree to select it, then use this option to delete it.

The ‘Descendancy view’ menu item - show descendants of the selected person.  See: Descendants view

The ‘Family view’ menu item - show information about immediate family of the selected person.

The ‘FamilySearch™ actions ...’ submenu - lets you download information and match individuals in your database with persons in FamilySearch™ .

The ‘Details on/off’ menu item - turns collateral line information on and off.

Events on / off - clicking this item will enable (or disable) the display of events, source citations, notes and multimedia items. This item is the same as clicking the  Events button on the toolbar.

Sources on / off - clicking this item will enable (or disable) the display of source citations and their associated multimedia items.
