Search for information

 

The ‘Search list’ button on the toolbar lets you search a list of all individuals in your database.

There may be more than one tree in a database. If the person you select is not in the tree currently being viewed, Branches opens the tree containing the selected person..

You can also start this function by selecting the ‘Find an individual’ option in the Edit menu on the main menu.

The ‘Search’ button on the toolbar lets you search the tree currently being viewed for people, places and text in notes. This function lets you enter a partial name, place and / or keyword and see all results that match.

In addition, two other functions helps you find all individuals who have notes and all individuals who have multimedia items.

The ‘Notes’ button on the toolbar will hi-light in red the names of all individuals in the current tree who have note information..

Branches has two functions to help you locate individuals.

Note: If you double click on the small red circle to the left of any hi-lighted name, Branches will zoom in and center that person.

The ‘Media’ button on the toolbar will hi-light in red the names of all individuals in the current tree who have multimedia items.
