There are more lines and names in a Branches tree than in a standard pedigree chart. Branches shows not only the father and mother of a person, but also all of their spouses, children, brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, cousins and the spouses of all of these individuals.

Notice that the vertical line between 1st Wife and ‘You’ represents the family of ‘You and 1st Wife’, with the children to the left of the line being the children in this family. The vertical line between 2nd Wife and 1st Wife represents the family ‘You and 2nd Wife’. The children to the left of the line are children in the second family.
